Sheffield Robotics

The age of academics working in isolation is over. To make amazing things happen, we have  to work together in teams that cross traditional boundaries. An interdisciplinary approach makes us faster, more flexible, and better informed, and that is evident in this unique collaboration between Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield.

They want to give ambitious people a platform to develop their ideas than can benefit everyone, to drive economic growth, to create jobs and improve lives.

The aims of Sheffield Robotics are:

  • Make Sheffield a regional, national, and international hub for research that will develop the robots of the future
  • Forge strong links between research into new robotic technologies, human-robot interaction, and the impacts of robotics on human society
  • Work with industry to make the UK a world leader in robotics
  • Educate the next generation of robot scientists and engineers
  • Analyse the risks and benefits and share our understanding
  • Conduct responsible research at the cutting edge
